Bali Beach Holiday - Canggu

Ahhhh Canggu, Bali beach holiday at its best! This beach side village with its amazing surf, stunning sunsets, beautiful rice fields and its fun, laid back vibe, ticks all the boxes for me. This is a place where you are literally in your togs and a sarong 24/7. Days can start with a morning surf & beach walk anywhere along the stunning stretch of beach from Pantai Berawa to Echo Beach. Set up camp with a couple of beach lounges and an umbrella (100 rupiah for 1/2 a day) and a few surf boards (50 rupiah for 2 hrs) and pop in & out of the surf for a sun bake, snooze, a bite to eat or a Bintang. If you get up early enough you can also watch the fisherman at Pantia Berawa bring in their morning catch, which is a great thing to do with the kiddlets, the locals are so beautiful & loved letting bubby & I have a look at what was on offer including stingrays & crayfish.

Though if spending all day long on the beach isnt quite your cup of tea, there are many other beach front options for you, with a handful of great beach clubs & bars along the Canggu stretch to visit & spend your day by the pool while watching the surfers from the comfort of a luxurious day bed. If the kids are with you La Brisa at Echo Beach has a great sized playground for them to muck around in while you sip on your chardonnay. Yay!

When everyone has had enough of the beach head to Splash Waterpark, its a water slide mecca & a must for the kids. This place will keep them entertained for literally hours. Spend the morning or afternoon, while the kids splash the big kids can lounge poolside & order delicious snacks & drinks, everyone will be happy, I guarantee it.

Sunsets in Canggu are a magical time of day & sunset drinks anywhere along they beach were a daily routine for us. Old Mans, Ji Sunset Bar and the Lawn being the top options in my book. (unless i was in my togs covered in a days worth of sand drinking bingtang on the beach :) )

We stayed at Hotel Tugu on Jl Pantai Batu Bolong. This was a stunning hotel right on the beach at Batu Bolong. The grounds are an amazing tropical oasis & the hotel its self built in a beautiful traditional Indonesian design. The staff & service here were 5 star & you are a 1min walk from the beach & some of the best bars and restaurants in town.

I highly recommend hiring a scooter while you are here so you can easily access all of the amazing beaches, surf breaks, village roads, open rice fields & incredible eateries. At around 60 - 100 rupiah a day its a no brainer.

Im in love with Canggu & will be visiting agian very soon, I implore you to do the same, as unfortunately as happens in Bali it wont be too long until this beautiful seaside village looses some of its charm with some large resort developments nearing completion....
